Jimmy Jean-Louis was among the celebrities who attended the Miami Film Festival in Miami, Florida this weekend.
Three of the Haitian Hero’s films were being screened at the festival. One of them is Nothing But A Man, a drama co-starring Monica Calhoun of the classic film The Best Man, as well as a host of Haitian-American actors including Rodney Charles and Jean-Pierre Vertus.
Everything But A Man deals with issues a single, black professional woman faces when it comes to romantic relationships.
Another Cargo, directed by Kareem Mortimer, co-stars fellow Haiti native Gessica Geneus. This latter film deals with the smuggling of Haitians in the Bahamas, and the overall immigration issues the Haitian community faces on that island.
